The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for assessing and treating preschool children in the Child Development Center Therapeutic Nursery. The nursery provides a highly structured, small group classroom for children ages 3-5, focusing on developmental delays in communication, social responsiveness, play skills, motor development, sensory processing, and attention and learning deficits.

RESPONSIBILITIES including, but not limited to:

  • Speech and Language interventions for preschool children with developmental delays and disorders.
  • Consultation with parents, special education staff and other related service providers.
  • Participation in weekly interdisciplinary team meetings.

Immediate Part Time Openings for a Peds OT to perform School Evals and Ongoing Treatment in a Great Westchester School District

Medalion Occupational Therapy Consulting PLLC  anticipates  immediate openings for therapists to provide both Occupational Therapy Evaluations and Ongoing Therapy Services in a great and supportive school district in Lower Westchester County for the summer and fall 2019. 

We are seeking therapists to do either evaluations and/or ongoing therapy services.  Therapists should have a minimum of 1 year of experience which includes working with CPSE children ages 4-5 and familiarity with IEP Direct.  

Evaluations are conducted on-site  Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM. Flexibility to choose as little or as many as your schedule allows. Depending on the child, you may need to administer the 1) VMI AND/OR M-FUN 2) Sensory Profile or SPM  and 3) One writing assessment such as WOLD, Print Tool, or ETCH, depending on the students age. Parent and teacher interviews are conducted as part of the evaluation process. Results are reviewed with the parents. 

Ongoing therapy services are generally twice weekly and clustered caseloads are expected to be  available. Our preferred applicant will have experience working within the school setting, be familiar with IDEA,  IEP  Direct  and love helping students reach their potential.  Consultation with teachers, other therapists, support staff, and families to facilitate classroom mobility and participation.

Documentation requirements include data collection, marking period progress updates, yearly IEP revisions including updated goals and treatment strategies.
