The Shirley Aninias School, located in Tribeca, is a private, behavior-based, 12-month elementary school serving neurodiverse students ages 4–13+ years old. They have developmentally customized a program committed to complex learning profiles. Their whole-child approach prioritizes the full scope of a child’s developmental needs to ensure every child reaches their full potential. They are expanding their existing team of BCBA’s, speech language pathologists, physical and occupational therapists, psychologists and are looking to add two additional occupational therapists for the Fall.
SCHOOL OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY SUPERVISOR – Full-Time, 12-Month | $97,500–$110,000
A senior clinical role, not a director position. The Occupational Therapy Supervisor carries a direct OT caseload while leading the school’s OT and PT team: delivering hands-on therapy, mentoring OT staff, and coordinating the quality, scheduling, and documentation of services. Reports to the Assistant Principal.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Direct Therapy

• Carry an OT caseload, providing individual and small-group therapy per student IEPs
• Complete evaluations and re-evaluations of motor, sensory, self-care, and environmental needs
• Design interventions for fine motor, visual-motor, sensory processing, and daily living skills
• Recommend adaptive strategies and tools that support independence in the classroom

Supervision & Team Leadership

• Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and coaching to the school’s occupational therapists
• Provide operational oversight of the PT team, including scheduling, caseloads, and service delivery
• Support onboarding of new OT and PT staff
• Lead team meetings and balance caseloads so services stay consistent across classrooms

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure OT and PT services align with IEP goals and are delivered with fidelity
• Review evaluations, service logs, and progress reports for accuracy and timeliness
• Confirm all therapy staff hold current NYS licensure and credentials
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

Collaboration

• Integrate OT and PT goals into classroom routines with teachers and staff
• Participate in IEP and multidisciplinary team meetings
• Communicate with families on progress, goals, and home carryover
• Train staff on sensory tools, motor strategies, and adaptive techniques

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Required

• Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
• Current NYS OT license in good standing
• 5+ years of OT experience, preferably in a school setting with neurodiverse students
• Supervisory, lead-clinician, or mentoring experience, or clear readiness for it
• Strong knowledge of school-based service delivery and IEP documentation

Preferred

• Experience coordinating both OT and PT services
• Knowledge of special education law (IDEA, ADA, Section 504)
• Familiarity with sensory integration and assistive/adaptive technology
• Experience on an ABA-based or multidisciplinary school team

Staff School Occupational Therapist  Full-Time, 12-Month | $80,000–$95,000
We’re seeking a dedicated School Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our multidisciplinary team. The OT helps students develop the fine motor, sensory, and adaptive skills they need to access their education and participate fully in the school day, through direct therapy, staff collaboration, classroom accommodations, and student support planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Assessment & Planning

• Conduct comprehensive OT evaluations of students’ motor, sensory, self-care, and environmental needs
• Collaborate with IEP teams to develop, review, and revise OT goals and objectives
• Develop individualized treatment plans that support success across academic and functional settings

Therapeutic Interventions

• Provide direct OT services in individual or small-group settings per student IEPs
• Design interventions for fine motor coordination, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, and daily living skills
• Recommend adaptive strategies, modifications, and tools that support engagement and independence

Data Collection & Reporting

• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and progress monitoring
• Track and report student progress to the IEP team, staff, and families
• Conduct periodic re-evaluations to adjust therapy plans and support ongoing IEP development

Collaboration & Communication

• Integrate OT goals into daily routines with teachers, staff, and related service providers
• Participate in IEP and multidisciplinary team meetings
• Communicate with families on progress, goals, and home practice
• Train and consult staff on sensory tools, motor strategies, and adaptive techniques

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Physically support students with motor needs (kneeling, bending, floor-level work)
• Engage in active play, transitions, and movement-based classroom tasks
• Lift and manage therapy equipment/adaptive materials (up to 35 lbs)
• Maintain visual/auditory supervision and travel between classrooms and therapy spaces
• Current First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain

QUALIFICATIONS
Required

• Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
• Current NYS OT license in good standing
• Minimum of two years of experience in a school or clinical setting
• Strong organizational, documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
