Overview of the Practice
Madison Occupational Therapy is a longtime, highly regarded Brooklyn based boutique Occupational Therapy practice that specializes in the care of patients, generally 50 years of age and older, who have challenges either with dizziness, balance, vestibular dysfunction or with low or diminished vision. Located in the community of BayRidge, Brooklyn, this busy practice enjoys deep rooted relationships with phsyicians and hospitals in the area.
Practice owner Alison Schonfeld is active in contributing to her local community as she volunteers her time lecturing to elders at various senior centers promoting health, independence, and return to function. Alison is the author of Screening Adult Neurological Populations: A Step-By-Step Manual and the co-author of AOTA’s Foundation in Low Vision online course. She is looking to bring on the right therapist to mentor and work with, and ideally someone with long time potential to take over the practice.
The Position
Allison knows the importance of a positive work environment, professional development, consistent support and a work-life balance. She is looking for an OT who values a work environment that treats 1:1, is excited to share new ideas, collaborate, and grow. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience, a passion for adult care, and ideally, a strong interest in neuro. For the right therapist, this is a great opportunity for long term employment, professional development and a strong opportunity for ownership in the future. Salary is commensurate with experience. This will be a part time position to start and is expected to ramp up to a full time opportunity in 2022.
