Part Time Pediatric Occupational Therapist needed to work in a well-established, highly regarded great Sensory Gym in Great Neck, Nassau County, NY. They also have various opportunities for school-based positions in the neighboring schools. Very flexible hours.

Responsibilities:

– Evaluate patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions to determine their occupational therapy needs
– Develop individualized treatment plans to help patients improve their ability to perform daily activities and regain independence
– Utilize medical imaging and knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assess patients’ conditions and progress
– Provide hands-on therapy to patients, including exercises, activities, and adaptive equipment
– Teach patients and their families how to use assistive devices and techniques to maximize independence
– Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
– Document patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and in a timely manner

Skills:

– Ability to provide patient-centered care with empathy and compassion
– Proficiency in critical care and acute care settings
– Excellent case management skills to coordinate patient care effectively
– Strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
– Ability to adapt treatment plans based on individual patient needs and goals
– Knowledge of evidence-based occupational therapy interventions and techniques
– Familiarity with hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $60.00 – $70.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 – 12 per week Monday through Friday
